Hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger has faced criticism from customers over its new feature called Recover, which allows users to restore their seed phrase. However, Ledger's Chief Experience Officer Ian C. Rogers has emphasized that the feature is optional and users can choose not to opt in. He also stated that Ledger is committed to self-custody of funds and would not introduce any feature that compromises those principles. Meanwhile, Charles Guillemet, Chief Security Officer at Ledger, has clarified that the feature does not give Ledger or anyone else backdoor access to user wallets or devices.
