Two unconfirmed transactions have reportedly moved around 9,800 bitcoin linked to the Silk Road, the largest movement of funds from the darknet marketplace in months. Of this amount, 8,200 bitcoin was transferred to new wallets, while the remainder was sent to change wallets.
The transactions used the replace by fee function, which is designed to speed up transactions during times of congestion. The US government seized over 50,000 bitcoin in 2022 from James Zhong, who pleaded guilty to wire fraud over the hack of the same amount of bitcoin from Silk Road in 2012.
