June 28 (Cointime) - Laguna Games declined an offer from Warner Bros. Games to work on a Game of Thrones licensed game and instead chose to remain independent and develop their own NFT game. The decision was made because the team wanted to explore the possibilities of building within the Web3 world and try something new.

Laguna Games' shift to Web3 came as a result of struggling to fit into the crowded video game market and oversaturated Web2 space. The company is launching new games that rely on existing NFTs, giving holders greater utility, and their focus on rapid prototyping and testing features gives them an advantage over longer-standing Web3 gaming incumbents.
