Kim Kardashian and Floyd Mayweather are facing a class action lawsuit over their alleged promotion of the now-defunct cryptocurrency EthereumMax (EMAX). The lawsuit, which was initially dismissed in December 2022, has been revived by U.S. District Judge Michael Fitzgerald, who refused to throw out the plaintiff's "unfair competition" claims against the celebrity defendants. The judge has amended the complaint, which alleges that Kardashian, Mayweather, and NBA star Paul Pierce "were profiting off endorsements at their fans' expense by touting an investment opportunity that had no legitimate business plan." The class-action lawyers will have to explain how the celebrity's promotion of the token affected its prices.
