Judge Denies Dapper Labs Request to Dismiss NBA Top Shot Security Lawsuit

A U.S. district court judge on Wednesday denied Dapper Labs’ request to dismiss a lawsuit that alleges that the NBA Top Shots non-fungible token (NFT) collection is an unregistered security. NBA Top Shots was one of the break-out NFT collections in 2021 and is in the top 10 collections of all time by sales volume. The project allows users to collect “Moments,” or NFTs in the form of video highlights from the National Basketball Association. (forkast)
