HyperPlay, a Web3-native game launcher, has raised $12 million in its Series A funding round from investors including Griffin Gaming Partners, Bitkraft Ventures, ConsenSys, Ethereal Ventures, Delphi, Game7, Mirana Ventures, and Monoceros Ventures.
The platform aims to provide interoperability for Web3 gaming, allowing developers to work without being bound by centralized entities such as Apple, Google, and Steam. HyperPlay's game store currently offers over 33 Web3 titles and supports all Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible chains, enabling players to bring their wallets, tokens, and NFTs into every native or browser game.
Web3 gaming is the fastest-growing sector in the blockchain space, according to DappRadar, accounting for almost half of all blockchain transactions in 2022 and receiving $739 million of funding in the first quarter of 2023.
