Huawei Cloud, the cloud computing arm of Chinese smartphone maker Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., announced a partnership with Polygon and other blockchain firms last Thursday to form a Web3 and metaverse alliance.
Huawei Cloud held its Asia-Pacific partner summit last week in Bali, Indonesia, where it announced Polygon, Deepbrain Chain, Morpheus Labs and Blockchain Solutions as its Web3 partners.
Huawei Cloud said it aims to integrate blockchain into its cloud services through the partnership. The company also introduced its cloud-based Web3 solutions at the summit.
Since launching its blockchain services in 2018, Huawei Cloud has recently been exploring the potential role of 5G in metaverse developments. It also launched its non-fungible tokens (NFT) collection and trading platform in April 2022.
