Gary Gensler responds to whether he will resign if Trump is elected: No comment on the election

On October 22nd, current SEC Chairman Gary Gensler's term is set to expire on January 5th, 2026. Generally, if the opposition party takes over the White House, the chairman will choose to resign. However, if Trump is successfully elected as the next US president and Gary Gensler decides to stick to his position, he can also complete his commission term. When asked by reporters if he would resign if Trump won, Gary Gensler said he would not comment on the election but added that "elections have consequences."
