One of FTX's acquisitions, the card game Storybook Brawl, is set to be shut down just 13 months after it was acquired.
Developer Good Luck Games cited a lack of options going forward as the reason for the closure, though it has been suggested by observers that the process of liquidation may have forced the developer's hand.
Its all-time peak concurrent player count of 2,770 was seen in September 2021, and by February 2022, before the FTX takeover, that had settled to an average of 817. Its monthly player count has seen a 59% drop to about 331 average players in recent months. FTX itself collapsed last year and co-founder Sam Bankman-Fried was a notable fan of Storybook Brawl as a way to unwind.
