The team behind decentralized social media platform Friend.tech has introduced a new security feature in response to a series of SIM-swap attacks on its users. Users can now add a 2FA password to their accounts for additional protection if their cell carrier or email service is compromised.

Friend.tech users will be prompted to add this password when signing onto new devices, and neither the Friend.tech nor Privy teams can reset these passwords. The platform had already updated its security measures on October 4th, but some users criticized the delay in implementing the solution.
