Linwei Ding, a former Google software engineer, has been accused of stealing confidential AI trade secrets from the company and collaborating with two China-based AI startups. Ding could face up to 10 years in prison for uploading confidential files to his personal Google Cloud over a period of two years. The FBI discovered over 500 unique files of confidential information stolen from Google after seizing Ding's electronic devices. Adaptive AI has secured $20 million in seed funding to allow LLMs to learn from human feedback through reinforcement learning, and has emerged from stealth mode.
