Skorobogatova was responsible for supervising the national payment system, IT and financial technology, including the digital ruble central bank digital currency (CBDC). Her position will be taken over by the central bank's IT director, Zulfiya Kakhrumanova. First Deputy Governor Dmitry Tulin will be responsible for supervising the national payment system. The digital ruble is scheduled to be launched on a large scale in July 2025, at which time large banks will be obligated to support the CBDC.
