Dapper Labs, the company behind CryptoKitties and NBA Top Shots, has announced further staff layoffs, with CEO Roham Gharegozlou sharing an email stating that up to 51 employees will be leaving the firm. Gharegozlou described the decision as "incredibly difficult" but necessary to ensure a "lean and efficient" company.
The Vancouver-based firm has faced previous layoffs, with 22% of its workforce cut in November 2022 and a further 20% in February 2023. Despite the layoffs, Gharegozlou maintains that both Dapper Labs and its blockchain network Flow are "well capitalized to pursue our mission".
