According to Decrypt, on August 21st, the cryptocurrency startup company Glow Token was scammed out of $250,000 and one Bitcoin under the guise of Crypto.com.
According to court documents, earlier this year someone posing as a Crypto.com employee contacted Glow Token CEO Bryan Lawrence, hoping to list Glow's cryptocurrency on the exchange. After several months of negotiations and document exchanges, Lawrence transferred funds to an account he believed belonged to Crypto.com.
But in March of this year, the real Crypto.com executives informed Lawrence that he had been scammed. Crypto.com stated that they had no record of an agreement with Glow Token for listing, and told Lawrence not to make any further statements.
