July 5 (Cointime) - Brazilian lawmakers have summoned the heads of major crypto exchanges, including Binance, Bitso, and OKX, to parliament to face questioning from MPs as part of a special parliamentary commission for “cryptocurrency-based financial pyramid schemes”.

The commission aims to develop a better understanding of crypto and how crypto-themed pyramids work, and believes that crypto exchanges can help in this regard. The list of 38 people summoned to parliament includes alleged crypto pyramid organizers, witnesses, and experts in the crypto field, such as the head of Binance in Brazil.

However, lawmakers have so far failed to convince the commission to summon IT and media leaders to combat a rise in crypto scams.
