During a podcast interview, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong discussed his excitement for ten emerging cryptocurrency ideas, including a decentralized coin that tracks consumer pricing index and on-chain reputation tracking.
He also proposed a global labor marketplace that uses crypto for cross-border payments and a fully decentralized peer-to-peer exchange built on auditable smart contracts. However, co-founder of Messari Ryan Selkis expressed skepticism about some of the ideas, such as on-chain game economies.
Armstrong also discussed the potential of smart contracts for escrow, reputation, and dispute resolution, as well as the possibility of tokenizing real-world assets and creating "network states" that function like decentralized autonomous organizations. He invited entrepreneurs to attend the first-ever Coinbase Ventures Summit in October to explore these ideas and more.
