Canadian payments platform provider, Code, has secured $6.5m in seed funding from investors including M13 and Union Square Ventures. The funds will be used to accelerate the growth of its new global payments platform, which enables users to make and receive micropayments in over 100 currencies instantly. Code is built on the Solana blockchain and uses the Code Sequencer to deliver a payments experience that is instant, global, and private. The company was founded by Ted Livingston and offers a mobile wallet app that allows users to benefit from self-custodial crypto without the complexity of managing private keys, gas fees, and slow or failed transactions.
