June 30 (Cointime) - Citigroup Inc. is reportedly weighing its partnership with Swiss fintech firm Metaco for digital-asset custody and has initiated informal discussions with other providers, according to people familiar with the matter. The sources requested anonymity as the deliberations are private.

Citigroup announced its partnership with Metaco a year ago. Ripple Labs Inc., which is currently embroiled in a long-standing dispute with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, agreed to purchase Metaco for $250 million last month.
