According to a report by CertiK, a blockchain security company, over $300 million in digital assets were lost to cryptocurrency hacks and exploits in Q2 of 2023. The report revealed a total of 212 security incidents during that period, resulting in the malicious draining of $313,566,528 from Web3 protocols.
While there was a noticeable 58% decline in the total amount lost compared to the previous year, the second quarter of 2023 saw an increase in the value lost to exit scams. The report also highlighted the need for continuous efforts to enhance security protocols and awareness in the cryptocurrency industry.
