CertiK Receives $500,000 Bounty for Flagging Blockchain Threat Dubbed "HamsterWheel"

June 19 (Cointime) - CertiK, a blockchain security firm, has been awarded a $500,000 bounty by Sui network for identifying a potential threat to its layer-1 blockchain. The vulnerability, known as "HamsterWheel", differs from traditional attacks as it traps nodes rather than crashing them.

The attack has the potential to cripple networks and make them inoperable. Sui implemented fixes to prevent the attack and awarded the bounty to CertiK to recognise its efforts.
