June 29 (Cointime) - Worldcoin, a blockchain identity project, has partnered with Okta, an identity management software, to launch its proposed identity protocol, World ID, in Germany. The new protocol will use custom-designed hardware called The Orbs to verify German-based users using their biometric data.
By collaborating with Okta, Worldcoin has introduced a "Sign in with Worldcoin" option on Okta's Auth0 marketplace, allowing developers to use the new sign-in option as an alternative to Google or Facebook. Worldcoin hopes that the biometric data aspect of the new protocol will help mitigate fraud attempts and distinguish between real humans and bots.
