Bitcoin miner Bitfarms has achieved a hashrate of 5 exahash per second (EH/s) with the expansion of production at its farm in Argentina. The facility, in Rio Cuarto, has taken advantage of low energy costs in the region to increase its hashrate from 4.1 EH/s when it went live last September.
The company has purchased an additional 6,200 new miners, which should bring its total hashrate to 5.7 EH/s once activated, with plans to reach a hashrate of 6 EH/s by the end of the year. Bitfarms has a total of 10 mining facilities across Canada, the U.S., Paraguay, and Argentina.
