June 20 (Cointime) - Bitcoin's dominance in the cryptocurrency market has surpassed 50%, with the digital currency accounting for half of the total $1.1 trillion market capitalization. This marks a surge of more than 10.5% since November 2022, largely driven by investors turning to Bitcoin as a safe haven amid regulatory scrutiny and the FTX crisis.
Ether's market dominance has remained steady at around 20%, and the combined value of Bitcoin and Ether now accounts for roughly 70% of the entire crypto market. Microstrategy co-founder Michael Saylor predicts that Bitcoin's market dominance will increase to 80% in the coming years as regulatory clarity drives adoption and rationalization in the industry.
