June 17 (Cointime) - Since the beginning of 2023, the Bitcoin blockchain has grown substantially due to the surge in Ordinals inscriptions, but concerns about storage capacity have been put to rest.
The blockchain size on June 16 was 488.9 GB with an average block size of 1.89 MB, falling short of earlier projections. Meanwhile, network traffic has cooled off significantly since the surge in transactions in May, with the transaction count and fees paid to validate transactions retreating from their all-time highs. Despite this, Bitcoin climbed to a 10-day high of $26,702.37 at the time of writing.
