ApeCoin DAO Faces Criticism for High Leadership Salaries and Disconnection From Community

ApeCoin DAO, a Web3 organization centered around the ApeCoin cryptocurrency token, has faced criticism for paying high salaries to its leadership board and being out of touch with its community. The DAO's governance board salaries were made public on Twitter by the ApeCoin DAO secretary, Vulkan, with some positions, such as forum moderators, receiving particularly excessive salaries.

ApeCoin and ApeCoin DAO are legally separate from the Bored Ape Yacht Club to avoid issues with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

The controversy surrounding salaries and roles in the DAO has sparked a healthy debate on decentralization in the Web3 community, with some members defending the high salaries as being in line with what a mid-cap public company in the Web3 sphere should be paying.
